Six ways to mark attendance. Switch on only what you need.
Fingerprint on the TAMS device is the primary method. Each additional method is enabled by the administrator, and reports always show how every mark was made.

Location check for app attendance
When a lecture has a location, a Students App punch must come from within about 50 metres of the classroom. Optionally, punches without a location can be rejected altogether.
Device-less mode
Start using TAMS before devices arrive. The college runs on app-based marking, and every report, alert and dashboard works exactly the same.
From the first scan to the ERP — automatically
Start
The teacher starts the lecture on a device (finger, card or room tag) or in the Teachers App. It gets the next lecture number for that class and subject.
Roster
Every active student enrolled in the subject gets an attendance record — absent by default — so nobody is missed.
Mark & finalise
Students mark in by the enabled methods. The teacher ends the lecture and it appears in every report as finished.
Alert & sync
Absentee alerts go out as configured, and in ERP mode the attendance is sent to your ERP — once, without anyone pressing a button.

Attendance records you can defend in any audit
Edit locks, audit logs and controlled conversions keep every number in your reports trustworthy.
- Device marks are final — marks made on a TAMS device cannot be changed by anyone.
- Every mark carries its source — fingerprint, card, face, code, Bluetooth, teacher or admin.
- Edit lock — lectures older than the days you choose can no longer be edited.
- Deleted lectures are archived — with all their records, to be reviewed, restored or removed.
- Access logs — every edit, import, transfer and settings change is logged with user and time.
- Confidence report — fingerprint match scores show how reliable every scan was.
The right access for every person in the office
Pages a role cannot change open view-only; admin pages are hidden. Every college keeps at least one Super Admin.
